Technology, entrepreneurship, and continuous learning.
While attending CSUCI and taking a entrepreneurial Management class, I found myself increasingly interested in both technology and financial markets. Rather than immediately pursuing a traditional technology role right after graduating, I decided to take a different path and explore entrepreneurship through software development.
During this period I designed, developed, deployed, and maintained Wick-Out Trading Journal, a web-based platform focused on helping traders improve discipline, track performance, and maintain structured trading journals. While working full-time outside the technology industry as a delivery driver, I continued developing the platform and learning new technologies through real-world implementation and problem solving.
Building Wick-Out exposed me to software development, databases, web hosting, cloud services, system administration, deployment workflows, troubleshooting, and infrastructure management.
Although the project did not grow as originally envisioned, I am incredibly proud of what was accomplished throughout the journey. Building Wick-Out required thousands of hours, problem solving, and persistence. While balancing a full-time job outside the technology industry, and dealing with family and raising my little daughter, I continued designing, developing, and maintaining the platform, often sacrificing personal time to keep moving forward.
More importantly, the experience changed the way I view challenges and personal growth. Before starting the project, I would have never imagined that I could build and maintain a software platform of this scale on my own. The project taught me that complex goals become achievable when approached with consistency, curiosity, and discipline. Regardless of the business outcome, the knowledge, confidence, and work ethic developed throughout the process have become some of the most valuable results of the journey.
Today, I view the experience as proof that there is no technology, skill, or challenge that cannot be learned through persistence, practice, and continuous improvement.
